«Russian Colonial Studies» is an electronic Russian historical peer-reviewed journal presenting the results of research by Russian and foreign scientists. Published since 2019. Goes 1 times in two months. Founder - Association for the preservation and study of historical and cultural heritage «Expeditionary volunteer corps» (St. Petersburg, Russia).  Reviewing is carried out by specialists of history, archeology and Ethnology of the peoples of the neighboring countries.

 

The mission of the journal is to publish original articles, reviews and reviews on the history, archeology and Ethnography of the peoples and territories of Europe and Asia that fell into the orbit of Russia from the reign of Ivan the terrible to the collapse of the USSR, as well as to increase the level of research and development of international scientific cooperation

 

The purpose of the journal is to form a new view of European and Asian history and the place of Russia in it, based on modern scientific approaches and the widest range of available historical sources, understanding of events, phenomena and processes of the past in the context of social, intellectual, economic, demographic and military history. Interdisciplinary research and academic polemics are welcomed in the journal, considering them as a platform for the presentation of different points of view, worldview concepts, methodological approaches to solving the problems of Russian, European and Asian history, Archaeology and Ethnography.

 

The editorial policy of the journal is aimed at the active use and promotion of advanced domestic and foreign experience in the study of Russian, European and Asian history, Archaeology and Ethnography, familiarization with it specialists and all interested readers, increasing the publication activity of researchers. The decision to publish the article is made on the basis of the opinions of leading scientists involved as reviewers and experts on its significance, scientific novelty, originality and relevance.

 

Editorial ethics is based on ethical principles, supported by a community of publishers of academic periodicals, the requirements of RF legislation in respect of copyright and on the recommendations developed by the Committee on publication ethics — CommitteeonPublicationEthics (COPE).
